The MQ Appliance messaging server must automatically terminate a SSH user session after organization-defined conditions or trigger events requiring a session disconnect. An XCCDF Rule
The MQ Appliance messaging server must automatically terminate a SSH user session after organization-defined conditions or trigger events requiring a session disconnect.
Medium Severity
<VulnDiscussion>An attacker can take advantage of CLI user sessions that are left open, thus bypassing the user authentication process.
To thwart the vulnerability of open and unused user sessions, the messaging server must be configured to close the sessions when a configured condition or trigger event is met.
Session termination terminates all processes associated with a user's logical session except those processes that are specifically created by the user (i.e., session owner) to continue after the session is terminated.
Conditions or trigger events requiring automatic session termination can include, for example, periods of user inactivity, targeted responses to certain types of incidents, and time-of-day restrictions on information system use.</VulnDiscussion><FalsePositives></FalsePositives><FalseNegatives></FalseNegatives><Documentable>false</Documentable><Mitigations></Mitigations><SeverityOverrideGuidance></SeverityOverrideGuidance><PotentialImpacts></PotentialImpacts><ThirdPartyTools></ThirdPartyTools><MitigationControl></MitigationControl><Responsibility></Responsibility><IAControls></IAControls>
