Without reauthentication, users may access resources or perform tasks for which authorization has not been granted. When operating systems provide the capability to escalate a functional capability, it is critical the user reauthenticate. A Manual Procedure

Configure the operating system to require users to supply a password for privilege escalation.

Check the configuration of the "/etc/sudoers" file with the following command:
$ sudo visudo

Remove any occurrences of "NOPASSWD" tags in the file.
